I am Greg Branham, the music teacher at Riverton Elementary School, Central School., and Mount Carmel Elementary school.
I grew up in Port Murray, New Jersey, a small village sandwiched between Washington and Hackettstown (check the back of your Snickers, M&Ms, Milky Ways, and other candy from M&M Mars Company). I lived in Georgia for one year before moving to the Huntsville area.
I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Music Education-Instrumental from Oakwood University. I taught one year in Huntsville City as an assistant Band Director and 21 years in the Madison County school system. Over the years I taught students in music at Whitesburg Middle School, Oakwood University, Riverton Elementary, Lynn Fanning Elementary, Owens Cross Roads School, New Hope Elementary, Harvest School, Madison County Elementary, Central School, ARS Nova School of the Arts, Mount Carmel Elementary, and Moores Mill Intermediate.. I am highly qualified by the state of Alabama, and I was the Madison County Elementary School Teacher of the Year for 2003-04.
The National Association for Music Education (NAfME) and the Alabama Music Educator's Association (AMEA) are my professional affiliations, as well as the National Association of Teachers of Singers (NATS). I am the District 1 Chairman for the AMEA elementary division. I won three medals in singing competitions throughout Alabama and the Southeast Region with NATS.
Musical theater is one of my great loves. I performed many musical productions with ARS Nova, Huntsville Opera Theater (HOT), Huntsville Community Chorus Association (HCCA), Renaissance Theater (RT), Independent Musical Productions (IMP), Theatre Huntsville (TH), Fantasy Playhouse, and Evil Cheez Productions.

I worked at the local preliminaries of Miss Alabama, Alabama's Jr. Miss, Alabama's Outstanding Teen, Miss Tennessee, Tennessee's Outstanding Teen, Miss Georgia, and Georgia's Outstanding teen as judge, judges' assistant, auditor, on-stage question writer, set builder, backstage assistant, and broom sweep..
My professional goals are to obtain my Master's degree in Music Education with an emphasis on vocal/choral, and to achieve National Board Certification in Music Education.
I love my career teaching music to Madison County students. I look forward to another 20 years.
